Need Volunteers For Emergency Contraceptive Research Study

July 11, 2019

Did you know that emergency contraceptive pills (‘morning after pills’) may not work as well for heavier-weight women?

The The University of Chicago is conducting a research study to expand emergency contraceptive options for women weighing over 176 lbs.
You may be eligible to participate if you:
• Weigh more than 176 lbs
• Need emergency contraception (EC) because you had unprotected sex or condom breakage in the past 72 hours
• Do not want a copper IUD for EC

Participants will come to 5851 S Maryland Avenue for one study visit. There will also be two or three follow up phone calls.

Eligible participants may be compensated up to $175 for their participation in this study.
