PTSD treatment study

January 24, 2022

We are conducting PTSD treatment study which compares Cognitive Processing Therapy to Relaxation Training.

You may be eligible if you are 18 or older, fluent in English, and have experienced a traumatic event in your lifetime.

If you are found eligible, you will be asked to complete EITHER ten 50-minute sessions of Cognitive Processing Therapy over the course of five days with one of our licensed psychologists OR five relaxation training sessions. You will be randomized into either treatment condition.

If you are randomized to Relaxation Training, we will offer you Cognitive Processing Therapy after a one-month follow up if you are interested. All treatment sessions take place virtually over a secure video platform. Treatment is free and your insurance will not be billed. You will also be asked to complete self-report surveys about your symptoms each day of treatment and for up to six months after to monitor improvement.

Qualified participants can earn up to $440 for completing all study related activities.

To see if you qualify, please fill out our short screening form here: Study Form
