Weight Loss Treatment Study

June 24, 2020

If you are a healthy, overweight adult between the ages of 18-45 you may be eligible for a research study evaluating the effects of an experimental treatment for weight loss and how the treatment affects your weight, hormones, appetite, and cognitive function.

If you are eligible to be in this research study, you have a 50-50 chance of receiving the experimental medicine or placebo (inactive) nasal spray, and you will be asked to take this medicine for 8 weeks. Neither you nor the doctor will know which medicine is assigned to you.

The study involves one screening visit to confirm eligibility, and 8 to 9 fasting morning visits over a total of 14 weeks. The visits include imaging tests that will look at your brain, liver, body composition, and total fat and lean body mass; blood draws and tissue sample collection; nutritional analyses; survey questionnaires about your mood, behaviors, and appetite; and computer tasks.

Eligible participants will receive up to $1,655 for completing the study. Local transportation and parking costs will be reimbursed. To find out if you are eligible to participate, please follow the secure link to our survey below.
